Jennifer B. Moreno was licensed to practice law in North Carolina in 2011. She focuses her practice on domestic issues faced by both traditional and non-traditional families, including adoption, surrogacy and other issues related to assisted reproductive technology. Though based in Wake County, Ms. Moreno practices throughout the Triangle.
Ms. Moreno received her undergraduate degree from Duke University in 2007, where she majored in Public Policy and minored in both Spanish and Italian. Upon graduation, she began working at Legal Aid of North Carolina where she focused on developing the state’s inaugural Medical-Legal Partnership and was introduced to the complex world of family law. Ms. Moreno returned to Duke University for law school, graduating in May 2011. While in law school, she was awarded the Dunspaugh Dalton scholarship, served on the board of the Public Interest Law Foundation, was an article editor for the Duke Journal of Gender Law and Policy, and developed a student-led ad hoc seminar on Adoption Law. In addition, she gained practical experience through Duke’s clinical programs and as an extern with Sharon Thompson Law Group in Durham.
Ms. Moreno is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association's Family Law Section and its Adoption and Modern Family Committees. She is also a member of the Wake County Bar Association, the Durham Family Law Bar and the North Carolina Association of Women Attorneys.
Originally from Miami, Florida, Ms. Moreno is fluent in Spanish. She lives in Durham with her husband, Tomas.
