Catherine McLamb is a native of Benson, North Carolina and a principal at Wake Family Law Group. While she is a successful courtroom litigator, her first concern in any case is to achieve a settlement beneficial to her client.
Ms. McLamb attended St. Mary’s Jr. College in Raleigh, North Carolina, graduating valedictorian in 1969. She then completed her undergraduate education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, graduating Phi Beta Kappa. Ms. McLamb earned her Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1975.
Ms. McLamb has been a board certified Family Law Specialist since 1993. She is also certified by the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission as a Family Financial Mediator. She is trained and certified in collaborative law. Ms. McLamb is currently serving on the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Committee for the 10th Judicial District of North Carolina and in this capacity both mediates and arbitrates disputes. Ms. McLamb clerked for the Honorable Frank Parker at the North Carolina Court of Appeals. She has maintained an active appellate practice having successfully argued before the United States Supreme Court, the North Carolina Supreme Court and the North Carolina Court of Appeals.
Ms. McLamb is a speaker in family law continuing legal education programs, She is a member of the Wake County Bar Association, the North Carolina Bar Association, the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, and the Wake County Collaborative Law Group. Ms. McLamb has been recognized by Business North Carolina magazine as one of the Legal Elite in North Carolina for family law (2007) and was selected by The Best Lawyers in America for inclusion in their list as one of the best lawyers in America in 2011, 2012 and 2013.
